Unobstructed Beauty - 2017, Group Show, Laurier Library LIFT Series, Wilfrid Laurier University

I have always imagined what it would be like to feel the pulse of a tree. When I walked the trails near my home in Guelph, I encountered many trees, like red pines, where the peeling back of their bark reveals the brightly coloured grain beneath. By incorporating intricate line compositions with bold colour palettes, I invite my viewers to see the vitality and rhythmic movement of trees. My art practice revolves around capturing the natural essence and peacefulness of our wooded landscapes. Through the act of painting I hope to share with the audience my belief that trees are much more than fixtures in a landscape; they are, rather, lifeforms that give meaning to our environment.
